What aura cleansing actually means
"Aura cleansing" is a wellness term for clearing the emotional and mental residue you pick up through the day — a tense meeting, a difficult conversation, three hours of doom scrolling. Nothing mystical is required. Think of it as hygiene for your attention and mood, the same way a shower is hygiene for your body.
In practice, cleansing is a set of small, repeatable habits that interrupt stress before it settles in. Most people in India who come to Heal with Kiran are not looking for ritual — they're looking for a way to stop carrying work home.
Signs your energy needs a reset
- You feel heavy or exhausted after specific people or places, even when you did nothing physically tiring.
- You can't switch off at night — the mind keeps replaying the day.
- Small irritations feel disproportionately large for several days in a row.
- You feel foggy, unmotivated, or "flat" without an obvious reason.
- You keep starting things and abandoning them halfway.
One or two of these on a bad week is normal. A pattern that lasts three weeks or more is worth addressing deliberately.
The 7 practices
1. The salt-water rinse (2 minutes)
At the end of your shower, run cool water from the crown of your head down, and picture the day rinsing off with it. Once a week, add a handful of rock salt to a bucket of warm water for the final pour. The point isn't the salt — it's the deliberate marker between "work me" and "home me".
2. The 4-7-8 breath reset (90 seconds)
Inhale for four counts, hold for seven, exhale slowly for eight. Repeat four times. Do it in the car before entering your house, or between two back-to-back meetings. This is the fastest way to move out of a stress response and into a calmer state.
3. Morning sunlight (10 minutes)
Ten minutes of early sunlight — a balcony, a terrace, a walk to the shop — steadies your sleep-wake rhythm and lifts mood. In most Indian cities, 7–9 a.m. is ideal before the heat builds. This single habit changes more for most clients than anything else on this list.
4. Clear one physical space (5 minutes)
Cluttered space, cluttered head. Pick one small area each day — a drawer, your desk, the bedside table. Physical order gives the mind visible evidence that you're in control of something, which is exactly what a drained week takes away.
5. A digital boundary (ongoing)
Mute the three chats that spike your stress. Keep the phone out of the bedroom. Give yourself a firm cut-off — no work messages after 9 p.m. Most "heavy energy" people describe is simply an unbounded phone.
6. Grounding contact (5 minutes)
Bare feet on grass, soil or stone. If that's not practical, sit with both feet flat on the floor and name five things you can see, four you can hear and three you can feel. It pulls attention out of the loop of worry and back into the present.
7. The two-line release journal (3 minutes)
Before bed, write one line for what drained you and one line for what you're grateful for. Two lines only — the brevity is what makes it survive past week one.
A 10-minute daily routine you can actually keep
- Morning: 10 minutes of sunlight + the 4-7-8 breath (once).
- Transition home: 4-7-8 breath, then the shower rinse.
- Evening: clear one small space, then two journal lines.
Run this for 21 days before judging it. Energy work is cumulative — the shift usually shows up in week two or three, not on day one.
When to bring in a coach
Self-practice handles day-to-day residue. A 1:1 session helps when the same pattern keeps returning — the same conflict, the same slump, the same block around money, work or a relationship. In a session, Kiran Goyal maps which patterns are most active for you and turns that into a specific weekly plan rather than a generic list.
