Aura Colours And What They Actually Mean

Red to violet, in plain language — what each colour signals, why yours changes, and how to read your own without guessing.

Colours describe a moment, not a personality

The single most useful thing to understand about aura colours is that they are a reading of now. People arrive hoping to be told they are a "green person" for life. A useful reading does the opposite: it names what is loud this month and what has gone quiet, so you have something to work with.

Each band is a signal about the current state — not a permanent label.

The seven colours

Red

Drive, appetite, physical energy. Strong red often shows in people carrying a lot and still pushing. Watch for burnout dressed as productivity.

Orange

Creativity, appetite for change, sociability. Often present during a new project or a genuine emotional thaw.

Yellow / Gold

Confidence, clarity, personal power. Dull gold usually points to self-doubt rather than a lack of ability.

Green

Connection, care, healing. Common in people who look after others — and who forget to be looked after.

Blue

Expression and honesty. Bright blue reads as speaking clearly; muted blue as sentences held back.

Indigo

Intuition and perception. Often present in people who read a room instantly and then doubt what they read.

Violet / White

Perspective, stillness, a wider view. Reported least often, usually after a period of real rest or grief.

Why your colour changes

How to find your own colour in two weeks

  1. Each evening, write one line: the colour you were drawn to that day.
  2. Note the colour you actively avoided — that is often the more informative one.
  3. At day 14, count. The most frequent colour is your current dominant.
  4. Ask what that colour is asking for: rest, expression, connection, decision.

Reading colours honestly

There are no bad colours and no hierarchy. A dull gold is not a character flaw; it is usually six months of being over-committed. The point of colour work is to make an unnamed state nameable, and therefore addressable.

Frequently asked questions

What do aura colours mean?In aura work each colour is read as a signal about your current state — red for drive and physical energy, gold for confidence, green for connection, blue for expression, violet for insight. It describes the moment, not a fixed personality.
Can aura colours change?Yes, and they usually do. Sleep, workload, grief, a new relationship and even a single hard week can shift the dominant colour. That is why a reading is a snapshot, not a label.
What is the rarest aura colour?Violet and clear-white are reported least often. Rarity is not a ranking — a common colour read clearly is more useful than a rare one guessed at.
How do I find out my aura colour?Either a guided session with a practitioner, or self-observation: note which colour you are drawn to, avoid, or keep dreaming of over two weeks and look for the pattern.
Is this religious? No. Heal with Kiran offers non-religious, non-denominational wellness coaching. Aura colour work here is a reflective tool, and it does not replace medical care.
